Children may be involved in the following musical ensembles:
- Concert band - students involved in the woodwind/brass program.
- Strings ensemble - students involved in the strings program.
- Choir - Years 3 to 6 students.
- Recorder ensemble - Years 5 to 6 students.
- Marimba groups - Years 4 to 6 students.
- Performing Arts Team - a small extension group made up of students from years 4 to 6 who have been identified as displaying interest and potential in the performing arts.
These ensembles perform in the annual Gympie Eisteddfod and the Gympie South SS Cultural Evening and are sometimes invited to perform at community events.
Years 5 and 6 students who have shown a commitment to the choir and who pass a simple singing audition will be invited to participate in the massed choir of Creative Generation State School Onstage.
